  • Notes As a student of Environmental Studies and Art I often try to find how I can tie these two disciplines together. This tapestry is reminiscent of a stained-glass window and has blocked out color that can be likened to a mountainous landscape with the colors of the sky reflecting the colors of the earth. Genesis 9:14-15 "Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life." I view this promise from God as a mutual agreement. By promising us not to destroy the Earth, God is expecting that we also serve as caretakers of the creation we are blessed to be a part of. Obviously with the awful loss of biodiversity, dramatic changes in global climate, and general lack of regard for non-human organisms, we are doing a terrible job of holding up our end. In other words, we need to do better to reflect God's promise, here on Earth.
