  • Description Grown Up’s First Alphabet was born out of the question “What would an alphabet book for adults look like?” In the wake of all the events of 2019-20 divisions and anger raged rampantly. One was expected to be on one side or the other with no room for considering why the other side believed the way the did. When one thinks of a child’s alphabet book one doesn’t question A being for apple because it’s red or green. It just is. Grown Up’s First Alphabet uses this concept with themes and topics prevalent to today’s adults and encourages the reader to consider why, for example, Lis for LGBTQIA+ or P is for Police for some just is, without question; but also hopefully to get them to consider why someone would think the opposite. It is the hope that the book will create healthy discussion and consideration between peoples of differing thoughts and opinions.
  • Notes The book is printed on linen fabric using a multi block relief technique. It is housed in a handmade full leather clamshell box. Grown Up’s First Alphabet is a 2021 SAGA awarded project.
