  • Description Catalogue, the artist explores the subjective relationships between objects and words. Using only her mind as a resource, the artist provides the viewer with definitions of common objects, exploring the subjective relationships between objects and words. Viewers are thus invited to consider the ways in which they relate themselves to the world through language.
  • Notes "Catalogue" is a 240-page book of paintings and captions. The paintings are of objects and the captions are of things that I know about those objects. No research was done to produce these captions, and they were produced on a typewriter with limited to no editing functions (basically, words could be blacked out). As a result, many of these captions are stream-of-consciousness goofy, incomplete, and overly metaphorical. The paintings and their respective captions are presented in alphabetical order, but they can be read any which way. There are some suggestions in the indices in the back of the book that help to group everything a little more kindly than the alphabet can do- for example, "Metals", "Number of Google Search results" and "Things that roll".
