- Notes An important artistic medium for the Kuba was their meticulously carved palm wine drinking cups. Objects such as cups, boxes and dishes allowed artists to display their creativity and technical skill. The most highly decorated cups were made for wealthy individuals who commissioned them for conspicuous consumption or display. The geometric patterns resemble those on Kuba textiles.
