  • Notes IDASA (Institute for a Democratic Alternative for South Africa) commissioned Israel Mashigo to produce ten large color posters dealing with the most critical electoral issues in 1993. The printed posters along with a training manual were placed in a “You Can Vote” kit to be used by people leading voter education workshops in rural areas all over South Africa. This poster instructs people how to vote. The facilitator may ask a group to mark the ballot, leading to conflicting answers as the participants have never voted before. The poster is used to point out the correct way to vote, done by placing an ‘X’ next to the desired candidate.
