- Notes This doll was purchased at a women’s self-help center outside of Grahamstown South Africa. The doll features traditional Xhosa beadwork, as well as a traditional headdress and dress. The body of the doll is made from a cardboard cylinder filled with beans and covered with a woman’s nylon stocking.
