- Description Artist Statement: Growing up in rural and mountainous areas of the Northwest, my perspective has been colored by a deep connection to the natural world. Drawing from that connection, I create works that are in conversation with their environment, providing space for contemplation of Nature and the essential characteristics of a given place. For the past few years, my practice has been focused almost exclusively on large-scale outdoor instillations. Note: The chrome-plated steel is extremely reflective and may look different in person than in the photo.
- Notes "Outside In" show at the Bryan Oliver Gallery Statement from the artist: This show has provided me an opportunity to shift focus and study the themes of my work beneath an alternate lens: that of the pristine gallery setting. Within these walls, you will find a mix of visually linked artworks, installation and remnants, as well as re-envisioned materials and processes left over from past public works. Through methods of reflection and filtration, "Outside-In" explores new territories within my life and work, ultimately reveling what floats to the surface of that process.
