- Description This statue idealizes Euterpe, the Greek Muse of Music, playing a wind instrument. Created by Eugène Marioton, the bronze statue is mounted on a pedestal of Carrara marble and stands at 21 7/8" tall (100 cm tall including base). Provenance: The statue was purchased c. 1950 in Chicago by Hans Moldenhauer and was placed in the recital hall of the Spokane Conservatory until the mid-1960s. It was transferred to Whitworth University in October of 1986, and currently resides in the conference room of the Cowles Music Center.
