- Notes Roy Schonewill (1917-1982) held BA and MA degrees in art and music and studied architectural design at the post-graduate level. After teaching at the public schools Cornish School of Allied Arts, Victoria University, and the University of Washington, he turned to full-time painting. During his career he executed many architectural commissions and contributed to numerous art and design magazines. His paintings have been exhibited widely throughout the Northwest.
